Growing up in New York I appreciated the parks. They are an oasis in a sea of tall buildings and urban bustle. When I moved to Indy I was delighted to find we have lovely downtown parks as well.
This is the view of the Indiana War Memorial from the south side of University Park. Even on a cold winter day, the park is a lovely haven.
University Park is the southern most park in the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza Historic District. Originally constructed for war maneuver practice and drills, it was made into a people’s park in 1876.
