Main Street in Carmel has come a long way. Although most of it is relatively new, the city has worked had to create a vibrant downtown area with a more “lived-in” look. The mixture of residential, office, retail and restaurants is really starting to work together and it is hard to find a parking spot on a Saturday night.
Depending on who you talk to, the Norman Rockwell style statues which are scattered along the strip add either an element of charm or creepiness. I like them. And a few weeks ago, I had a bit of fun, introducing my friend’s daughter to the sculptures. At 2 1/2 she looks at everything with wonder and awe.
