At the Center of Athens
High on hilltop, dominating the skyline of Athens is the Acropolis, the sanctuary of Athena. No one lived on this hill, and it wasn’t used for defense or business, just the worship of the Goddess Athena. Her temple; The Parthenon stands to remind us of who she was, and the people who built it some 2,500 years after it’s construction.
The Parthenon and Lesser Temples
the Parthenon is amazing, because of its sheer size, but there is a lesser temple also on the hill top that I found much more striking with the delicate sculptures of women adorning the front.
