As we entered the Tel Dan Nature Preserve I was disappointed to see a row of tour busses and a gift shop. The paved paths leading into the park were pretty, but a far cry from the lovely natural streams I remembered.
We had driven too far to get there for us to turn around without exploring a little, but my heart wasn’t in it. As we walked further into the park, the concrete paths gave way to the familiar stones, with water rushing across them. It was exactly as I remembered.
As we walked, we met a couple from Tel Aviv who hadn’t been to Tel Dan for 30 years. We all agreed the back section was as pretty as we remembered and some of the new paths were actually nice additions.
