Looking at this picture, you might think this photo was taken in Rome or  Greece.  It certainly looks like the ruins of an ancient world, but they aren’t.

Instead, these pretend ruins stand close to the entrance of Holiday Park in Indianapolis. So where did they come from?

It turns out the St. Paul Building, built in NYC in 1898 was the original home fo the sculptures atop these ruins.  The first “skyscraper” in NYC.  When it was demolished, the city of Indianapolis acquired the sculptures and installed them in Holiday Park.
