When I was interviewing for the job which would bring me to Indy one of the things everyone talked about was the race sponsorship.
I wasn’t impressed. I had never been much of a race fan so it was a big deal for me, until we moved to Indy. Now I am officially hooked. I love the sounds and the smells of the track, from the road or the engines to the smell of grease and pork tenderloin.
But mostly, I love racing. This year was a great race. It opened with a moving tribute to driver Dan Weldon who died in the Las Vegas race after winning here in Indy. It was a hot, face race with the lead changing too many times for me to count. I was sorry to see it end under yellow, but Dario Franchitti earned his place on the bricks.
