Ok as proof that I don’t know my flowers, after I titled this blog post, I was informed that this is actually a pansy.  I edited the post, but kept the name as further proof that although I love how they look, I actually know very little about flowers.

One of the first flowers of the season, the pansies are everywhere. You see them bunched in large flats at every nursery and florist.   And they look so pretty with their bright splashes of color.  Then you bring them home and plant them six inches apart.  They are still pretty, but for several weeks, they look a little pathetic and sparse.
