I love photographing the skyline of New York City.  I have hundreds of images in my collection.  There are views from the Brooklyn side across the East River, and the New Jersey side gazing across the Hudson to Midtown.  And on my last trip I took quite a few of lower Manhattan from the water.

When I came home, I selected one of my photos to be inspiration for a painting.  Before you judge the painting too harshly, keep in mind that this was part of a class on abstract art.  The buildings are deliberately flat, with no perspective. I realize that choice gives it a kind of elementary school feel, but I am ok with that.
