We didn’t see Nessie, but we did get a beautiful view of the Loch. It turns out the legend of Loch Ness has roots more than 1,000 years ago. In an effort to convince local pagans of the power of Christianity, the tale of a local monk who save a man from a large snake was expanded. It became a large sea demon who bowed to his command.
The story came and went over the years, but resurfaced around the 1940’s with several photos which were later determined to be a hoax. Regardless of why the story persists, it was a beautiful trip to the highlands to see the Loch.
