I think we Jews like to argue, about the silliest of things. Latkes for example. Do you serve them with applesauce or sour cream? I prefer sour cream, but my kids are all about the applesauce.
Do you like them thick or thin? – At our house the answer is medium, shredded, not mashed with lots of onion. There is never enough onion.
But the biggest argument? Are latkes a side dish or a meal? I grew up thinking that was dinner, my husband thinks we are supposed to serve chicken or brisket. So every year I buy two chickens at Marsh, and package up one and a half after dinner.
