I love to wander through cities on foot, taking photos along the way. Interesting architecture and street art always catch my eye. When I come home from vacation I typically put my camera away until it is time for the next trip.
But Indy is a cool city too with interesting and historic buildings alongside modern innovative architectural designs. There are statues, lovely parks and scenic views.
One of my favorite structures is the Arts Garden, standing 17 feet above the intersection of Washington and Illinois street. More then just an attractive corridor between the mall and hotels across the street, it is also a venue for free, monthly visual exhibitions and live performances.
Next time you are downtown, take a few minutes to wander through the Arts Garden. Check out the art exhibit of the week, enjoy the view and pick up a brochure from the Artsgarden Cultural Concierge.
It’s where I got engaged. We snuck into someone’s party that was going on. It’s a very cool structure. Love this shot of it http://www.indianatransportationassociation.com/graphics/artsgarden%20aerial%20view.jpg
That is a great story. I love the space. We held an awards banquet there. The space was great be we didn’t time it well. The sun was setting as we were presenting so none of the photos of the award winners were very good. oops
But it is a great space for a party.
