This is a close up of a forsythia bush. They only bloom for such a short time that I find myself taking lots of photos to capture how beautiful they are, but most of them look the same, so I look for ways to improve on nature, playing with the editing tools to create something cool and unique.
On the one hand it seems a bit presumptuous to say we can improve on nature. I think what I really mean is that I can improve on the way my camera captures nature. The colors always seem a bit more vibrant in reality than they do when i take the photo so I bump up the contrast, vibrancy or saturation. If I do to much the image doesn’t look quite real anymore, but sometimes the effect can be quite beautiful.
