In the center of the old city of Jerusalem, is HaKotel (the Western Wail). It is the last remnant of Solomon’s Great Temple.

At all hours of the day, you will find people praying at the wall, men and women separated by a fence. We went to the wall late on Saturday night. A large group of orthodox men were still there saying the final Sabbath prayers. Standing at a distance it look like a great Black Sea as the bowed and rocked in prayer.

Approaching the wall you could see birds perched high above the women, and if you look small pieces of paper, with personal prayers and wishes tucked into every crevice.
