There are two of these lovely little flowering crab trees in our backyard. I enjoy their blooms each spring, but these colorful berries are an autumn treat brought on by the unusually warm fall. I snapped a few photos today because I thought they looked really cool against the snow.
We got the trees a few years ago from the Nora North Side Community Council tree give away. They were just these pathetic little twigs, and I never thought they would survive. But they have.
They are still pretty small, but they are pretty, and who knows? Maybe some day they will grow up to be real trees.
