Did you know that Washington Township has the highest number of trees per person among the townships which make up Indianapolis?
I am pretty sure that is due in part to the annual tree give away sponsored by the Nora North side community council. Each spring they give away hundreds of saplings, encouraging residents to plant the trees.We have several in our yard, two River Birch which are struggling a bit to take hold and two really pretty Flowering Crab Apple Trees. While they are still fairly small, and don’t give a lot of shade, yet, they do gives us some beautiful blossoms every spring.
