Hills, Steps and More Hills
I am from Indiana, where everything is flat, really flat so New England is a bit of a shock. There are hills everywhere, and houses built into the sides of hills are three and four stories, with no elevator.
No need for a stairmaster! But when I am done complaining, I have to admit the hills and tall buildings are absolutely beautiful. I love the old churches with their tall spires and views of the city from the top of the hills.
History Everywhere
Providence is an old city with many buildings dating back to a time before the Revolutionary War. The narrow streets are filled with well maintained homes in the early American style.
Walkoing down Benefit Street, is like traveling back in time.
