One of the first signs that spring has really arrived in Indy are the blossoms on the Flowering Dogwoods scattered around the city. There are a number of these lovely trees on the approach to the state capital building and dot the landscape along the White River Canal.

While the trees are pretty all summer long, these blooms fade quickly,  so the challenge is finding just the right day to photograph them before they disappear for another year.

There are many trees along the canal, but this one is my favorite. It stands on the bend in the canal facing the Historical Society Building.
