When I moved to Dallas in the late 70’s my sense was of a city that was silver and glass. They were knocking down beautiful historic buildings left and right and putting up glass boxes. The city was bright and new.
It didn’t age well, and in the 90’s when I would go back, there was a dingy feeling.
But the old Dallas is back, but better. Now they are finding ways to blend old and new, bring art to the city and the bright feeling.
It was apparent as I stepped off the plane. The sculptures around the airport where really cool.
