When my son was little, he would stop in his tracks to watch a butterfly. There is something so amazing about these delicate and beautiful creatures.  He knew I loved them too, and would use this tactic of pointing and saying Butterfly Mommy when he wanted to change the conversation.

He is older now, and probably doesn’t rely on butterflies to manage his conversation, but I still stop in my tracks to see one as it flutters by.

This image was a test of my photo editing skills. I shot the original image with my iphone. When I opened the picture into photo shop, I thought the background really detracted from the vibrancy of the image. I converted the background to gray scale so the image would really pop. I have admired this technique for awhile, and this was a fun image to try the process on. I am going to try this with some of my flower photos too.
