Opened to the public in May of 1893, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first connection between what was then the two cities of Brooklyn and Manhattan. At 130 years, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States.

At the time it was built is was the longest suspension bridge in the world. although it lost that title long ago, it still seems pretty long as you walk across it. Coming across the rive from the Brooklyn side, there are amazing views of the city that you can’t really enjoy whizzing by in a car.
